An 18th Century Welsh Lobster-pot comb-back stick chair

An incredible Welsh (Carmarthenshire) stick chair dating from the 18th Century. 

This stunning lobster-pot is very unusual having turned legs at the front with a more traditional leg at the rear.

The one piece arm rest with wooden rivets is a joy to behold while the colour, texture and grain of the slab is simply sublime. Lets not forget the shape of the headrest, wonderful!

This is an extremely rare chair, fit for a museum but still strong enough to be used on a daily basis. 

Sourced by a retired Antique dealer in the early 1960s and then kept within his personal collection until now. 

The legs have had an inch or two removed at some point, probably due to being handed down to a shorter family member more than a few generations ago.
